Volunteer

In Minnesota last year, 84% of GLBT students were verbally harassed. By volunteering with One Voice Mixed Chorus, you can build connections to strengthen the GLBTA community and help prevent violence and discrimination in your community. We will provide on-site training in event planning and execution, marketing, social media, and more!

One Voice seeks friendly, helpful and reliable individuals who are looking to contribute their time to make a positive impact on our community. If this sounds like you, we'd love to have you join our “Fifth Section” team of more than 50 volunteers who collectively contribute between 3,000 and 4,000 hours annually. Come help us in our mission of building community and creating social change by raising our voices in song.

Many of our volunteer serve on committees or usher at One Voice events. We are especially looking for volunteers in the following areas:
       Video editing and production
       Audio recording
       Market research
       Fundraising
       Corporate giving
       Office assistance
       Lighting design
       Stage Management

“I can’t sing—trust me on that! But from the first time I heard One Voice in concert I knew I had to be involved. It wasn’t just that the group sounded good, it was DOING good. It is so rewarding seeing the positive impact One Voice has on the community, and I’m so honored to be a part of the work!”

What’s a “Fifth Section?”

Most choirs are made up of four singing sections: soprano, alto, tenor, bass. Because of the central role that volunteers play in the One Voice community, we have created a Fifth Section that includes our many volunteers that provide everything from ushering to ticket management to bookkeeping for the organization. Come join our Fifth Section!
