One Voice performs two primary concerts per year in addition to 12 to 15 outreach performances. Our concert themes have included messages about GLBT life experiences, humor within our community, safe sex, AIDS, breast cancer awareness, queer reflections on history, the many dimensions of families, exploring body image, stories of GLBT individuals in the Holocaust, freedom songs from oppressed communities of the world, and music by typically under-represented composers (especially women and GLBT artists).
“I am so conscious of not having anyone visible during my own
adolescence and early twenties, and I think the sense of isolation and
confusion is greatly lessened by even knowing that groups such as One
Voice Mixed Chorus exist.”

“I keep having chats with other One Voice singers and we all
agree how important this chorus is in our lives. I’ve been involved in a
number of GLBT organizations and one was even a religious organization.
Oddly enough, the strongest sense of fulfillment and spirituality in my
life has been from singing with One Voice.”
